About The Event

About Event: Help pick fresh produce for neighbors in need with CROS Ministries! Volunteers pick the produce from grower's fields that is left over after the commercial harvest. The recovered produce is then given free of charge to local food banks for distribution. Hundreds of thousands of pounds of produce are recovered each year to feed our hungry neighbors. You can help put fresh produce on plates of those in need with just one morning of serving! This is a fun outdoor activity, weather permitting. All participants must bring a signed waiver, which can be downloaded and printed from this link. Waivers will be collected on the morning of the event. Gleaners under 18 must have a waiver signed by their parents and be accompanied by a supervising adult. The exact gleaning location will be provided by Tuesday afternoon. The growers notify CROS Ministries at the beginning of the week of available harvest, and the gleaning director visits the field to map out directions. Up to 4 community service hours available.

We will be gleaning at the field behind County Line Feed Store in Boynton Beach. The address of the feed store is: 9293 US 441/SR 7, Boynton Beach, FL. You'll turn left into the Feed Store and continue down the dirt road past the store. The field will be .1 mile down the road. Don't forget to bring your waiver and water.  See you Sunday 🙂

Age Requirement: 13 and up. Volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

About the Nonprofit: CROS Ministries believes that to be successful in addressing hunger, the community must come together. For 40 years, CROS has brought people of different faiths, civic groups, and members of our community to work together effectively towards the common goal of ending hunger in our county. With limited staff, they utilize the talents of more than 3,000 volunteers to operate their programs. Using volunteers keeps their costs down which allows them to be open numerous days/week. All services are provided free of charge without regard to race, religion, national origin, marital status, gender, disability, sexual orientation, or age. You can learn more about CROS Ministries here: https://www.crosministries.org
