We'll be gleaning in Boynton Beach.

About The Event

Join us as we fresh vegetables in Boynton Beach!

Volunteers pick the produce from grower's fields that is left over after the commercial harvest. The recovered produce is then given free of charge to local food banks for distribution. Hundreds of thousands of pounds of produce are recovered each year to feed our hungry neighbors. You can put fresh produce on their plates with just one morning of serving!

The exact farm we'll be gleaning at in Boynton Beach will be given to us the a few days prior to the event, and an email with info to volunteers will follow shortly after. Stay tuned!

* All volunteers must fill out the special gleaning waiver and bring it with you to the event. The waiver can be found here: http://bit.ly/GleaningPeppersWaiver

What to bring and wear: All supplies for gleaning will be provided. CLOSED TOE SHOES ARE REQUIRED. It's recommended you wear long pants, and bring sunblock & bug spray if desired. Gloves are provided, but if you have a favorite pair at home bring them along. Volunteers must be able to lift 25 pounds.

Age requirements: Volunteers must be a minimum of 13 years old. All volunteers 13-18 volunteers must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Nonprofit Partner: The wonderful gleaning program is by CROS Ministries. They believe that to be successful in addressing hunger, the community must come together. For 40 years, CROS has brought people of different faiths, civic groups, and members of our community to work together effectively towards the common goal of ending hunger in our county. With limited staff, they utilize the talents of more than 3,000 volunteers to operate their programs. Using volunteers keeps their costs down which allows them to be open numerous days/week. All services are provided free of charge without regard to race, religion, national origin, marital status, gender, disability, sexual orientation, or age.

See you in the fields!
