About The Event
Sea turtle nesting season is in full swing! Join us for a fun night on the beach after the sun has gone down, and help remove harmful debris that can negatively impact nesting sea turtles. During nesting season thousands of loggerhead, leatherback, and green sea turtles come ashore to nest on our beaches. Palm Beach County has more sea turtle nests per mile than anywhere else in the United States! Approximately 2,000,000 sea turtles hatch on our beaches every year.
Time: 5 to 7 PM (stay for as long as you can)
Place: We’ll be cleaning the beach on the north end of Palm Beach Island, Mediterranean Rd & N Ocean Way. You can use 100 Mediterranean Road for your GPS. Parking is available on Mediterranean Rd. Parking on any other street may incur a fine. This is a residential street so be sensitive not to block driveways or alleys. Carpooling is highly recommended as this is the only street where the parking restrictions have been lifted for the cleanup.
Supplies and refreshments are provided.
All ages are welcome!
