Girls Night Out Benefiting Place of Hope & Shoppe 561

Did you know that Florida ranks #3 in the country, and Palm Beach County ranks #3 in the state for suspected cases of human trafficking? We don't hear about it everyday, but human trafficking is a big issue in our communities. This past Wednesday we got together to support Shoppe 561 at their Girls Night Out: Shine Light & Give Hope event, which focused on local human trafficking issues.

A wonderful group of over 60 local women all gathered and brought donations of essential items to make outreach kits for human trafficking victims. It was a night filled with education and community, as we listened to West Palm Beach Police Department Detective Vertefeuille share his first hand stories about working with human trafficking victims.

Shoppe 561 is a local West Palm Beach storefront, with a big mission behind them. All of their items are made in the USA or by marginalized women around the world. The underlying theme for the shoppe is hope, as they focus on shining a light on modern day slavery. They support Place of Hope's Human Trafficking Initiative: Prevention, Education and Recovery. To date they have raised nearly $30,000 for the Place of Hope Human Trafficking Initiative. Sadly, Shoppe 561 will be closing its doors soon, but shoppers still have a chance to visit and take advantage of some of their amazing sales. For every purchase a donation is made to the Place of Hope Human Trafficking Initiative.

Shoppe 561 is located at 1905 S. Dixie Hwy Suite B West Palm Beach, FL 33401. To learn more about Shoppe 561, click here.
