School is out for summer! We recently wrapped up our 2nd school year of participating in the Roosevelt Rocket Reading Buddies program. This reading program was started in March of 2013 as a positive response to the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School. Roosevelt Rockets Reading Buddies is a great way to give back to the community in a meaningful way! Volunteers visit Roosevelt Elementary School in West Palm Beach during lunchtime and read to 1st graders. Literacy is key to success and Reading Buddies help! This event lasts a little over an hour and happens monthly during the school year. Volunteers greatly enjoy this event and many come back month after month, year after year. Reading Buddies will pick back up again in September. Subscribe to our email list to be the first to know when reading dates for the upcoming school year are announced.
